Cracknell's journey to Australia has caused controversy and has brought out both supporters and others who are cynical about psychics. But he feels that this is good for at least it keeps the case alive in the public eye and has revitalised the enquiry and will continue fighting to prevent this case from becoming another cold case statistic. As he stated on Australian national television he makes no claim to having solved the case. He reiterates that no psychic can claim to have solved any case but they can be an integral part of investigation where the police seem to have reached a dead end.

This case like others that Cracknell has been involved in relied firstly on psychic impressions and then became a matter of logical investigation and finding witnesses to corroborate evidence uncovered. He states positively that he was not only able establish a clear motive for the murder but also to name suspects to the police. Much of what he discovered is not reported in the public domain due to the wishes of the grieving family.
